STEELE HALL BREWING

We’re Eric and Scott - the owners, head brewers, and curators of a good time.

We both grew up in Birmingham, but it took moving to North Carolina for us to meet, thanks to some mutual friends. We honed our skills (and friendship) spending countless brew hours together at Heist Brewery in Charlotte for half a decade (that’s a fancy way of saying five years).

Speaking of fancy, Eric then hopped over to be the head brewer at Charlotte’s Pinehurst Country Club where we got accustomed to drinking a good beer surrounded by community and the casual luxury country clubs are known for.

We moved back to Bama, ready to bring that backyard/country club feel to our hometown. Trussville was our landing spot, and we completely transformed our space making it aggressively approachable, aesthetically awesome, and awfully amazing. We’re out of average alliterations, but if you come visit us, you’ll see exactly what we’re talking about.

MEET THE OWNERS

ERIC MITCHELL

Who says people don’t stick with careers these days? Brewing has been Eric’s biggest passion and only career. He started hobby-brewing in 2011 and went pro in 2013 as the head brewer at Heist Brewery in North Carolina. He topped off his time in NC as the head brewer at Pinehurst Country Club before moving back to his home state of Alabama to open Steele Hall Brewing with Scott. Eric is married to Meagan (maiden name Steele– as in Steele Hall) and they have three kids. If Eric is buying a round of Steele Hall beer, it’s Malachite for everyone.

SCOTT WORTHINGTON

It’s been almost two decades since Scott started home brewing beer. He quickly became more than a hobby brewer and earned his graduate degree in brewing science from Auburn University. He then took his professional brewing skills to North Carolina to work at Heist Brewery where he met Eric. They both brewed for several years there before deciding to fulfill their dream of opening their own brewery on Alabama soil. Scott is married to Beth (maiden name Hall–as in Steele Hall), and they have 2 kids. If you ask Scott to cheers, you can bet it’s Felice Barra by Steele Hall splashing out of his glass.

FAMILY OWNED & OPERATED

Our five core beers are always available on tap and in cans, and we’re always adding new brews and Splashees–a weirdly delicious beer and fruit puree slushee that's just as tasty and posh as it sounds. Follow us on social media to get updates on trivia nights, live music, food trucks, and more. It’s too much beer to drink ourselves, so we sure hope you’ll come help us out and have a couple.
